Comparing laptop computer features can very well be a daunting task. There are so many different features that it becomes challenging to determine what features are a must have and which ones the consumer does not necessarily need. Some of the features that are available on laptops include: CD/DVD RW drive, webcam, upgraded video cards and wireless connectivity.

When comparing laptop computer features, it is good to consider whether a CD/DVD Re-writable drive is a necessity. It is a must have if the consumer does tasks such as burn musical CD’s or watch movies, but with the invention of the thumb drive, which is inserted into the USB port, it makes data CD’s a thing of the past. While most standard laptops include a CD/DVDRW drive, most netbooks, or compact laptops are not equipped with them.

Webcams are a good feature if the consumer wants to take pictures or videos directly from the computer. With a camera built into the top of the screen, it is a nice feature to have the ability to see the picture on the computer before actually taking it. This feature also has the option of video conferencing as well.

Also when comparing cheap laptops online the consumer must decide if they are going to do an extensive amount of game playing, either on or offline. If gaming is a necessity, it is a good idea to compare different video cards. If the consumer is simply using the computer for personal or business use without gaming, a standard video card will be sufficient, however; when gaming; many games will not support a standard video card, making it a necessity to upgrade this feature.

Wireless connectivity is standard on most laptops, however; some do not come with an internal Wi-Fi card. If internet connectivity is a must, the consumer must verify that the laptop of their choice comes with this feature.

When comparing laptop computer features, the consumer must determine what features they cannot live without. While some laptops come with all features listed, others will not come with any, and some will come with a few and eliminate others.
